Safety Tips

• Always wash your hands before serving drinks.
• Never operate your lemonade stand alone. Ask a friend, siblings, or a parent to supervise your sale.
• Cover lemonade and ice cubes between servings to keep bugs and dirt out.
• Use tongs to serve ice.
• Provide a covered trash container to dispose of trash.
• Never approach a person in a car to make a sale.

Selling Tips

• Get parents’ permission.
• Pick a nice warm sunny day.
• LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: Set your stand up in your front yard or where there are a lot of people such as a ball park, church, supermarket, or a charity. Ask a parent to help you get permission.
• You will need a small bank to make change.
• Choose the kind of lemonade you wish to make.
• You will need paper or plastic cups and a plastic pitcher.
• Bring a cooler to keep lemonade and ice cold.
• Have enough ice on hand.
• Have some paper towels on hand for spills.
• Offer other products such as cookies.
• When you see someone coming in your direction prepare for a sale and say ”Lemonade, ice cold lemonade.”
• Be cheerful and smile and always thank your customers.
• Have fun, be safe, work really hard, and make lots of money!
